 Look for our 'Tree of Hope’  throughout this Jubilee Year in our Gathering Hall! There will be 'task tags' covering different actions of Hope. The Hope tasks align with Pope Francis call for us to help build a culture of compassion, justice and thanksgiving. Parishioners may complete a task on their own or together with friends and/or family. If you have a specific activity in mind but don't see a tag for it, please help yourself to a blank tag to enter your intended action. 

To help us share the wonderful acts of Hope being offered, after completing your task, please return your 'task tag' to the designated box located near the Tree of Hope. Feel free to include any notes or thoughts and ''hopefully' take another tag!  No need to identify yourself or the people you participated with however, if you would indicate the number of people that participated that would be great!

 Town of Bethlehem's Food Scraps Drop Spot at St Thomas the Apostle Church offers an easy option for residents who want to compost their food scraps.


Who can participate? All who are interested!

Cost?  A free will donation is requested to help cover the costs of collection.

What container to use? You may use any container you wish, as long as you do not bring more than 5 gallons per household per week.

Sustain The Ecosystem/Plant A Garden Pollinators Love

Pollinators such as bees and butterflies play a key role in sustaining our ecosystem, helping more than 180,000 plant species and over 1200 crops reproduce. Unfortunately, pollinators are in decline due to loss of feeding and nesting habitats, pollution, misuse of chemicals, changing climate patterns. 

Help increase the pollinator population by filling your garden with annuals the bees love such as: alyssum, cleome, zinnias, sunflowers, salvia, calendula, verbena. Or plant herbs with your vegetables, let some flower, and they will draw in the pollinators to your other plants. 

Consider the color of your flowers too – bees can’t see red, but butterflies can.  Bees like purple, blue, white and yellow flowers.
 

Green/Blue Glass
Recycle green and blue glass at Honest Weight Food Coop. Remove lids/plastic/metal. There are Blue Bins for clear glass; Green Bins for green/blue glass. No light bulbs, drinking glasses, window glass or ceramics.

Spring Cleaning
